Former Real Madrid head coach Zinedine Zidane has shared his views on what a manager needs in order to be successful at the Spanish giants, Idman.Biz reports.
According to Zidane, the key lies in building a strong relationship with the players and fully supporting them on and off the pitch. He stressed that at Real Madrid, coaches exist for the players, not the other way around, and that understanding this principle is essential for long-term success.
Zidane noted that a coach must be close to the squad and show that he is always there for them. Only in this case can the dressing room fully accept the ideas being implemented. He added that if players do not agree with everything the coach does, something will always be missing, preventing the team from reaching its full potential.
The French specialist also recalled that during his time in charge, the players genuinely enjoyed working with the coaching staff. According to Zidane, his team restored the players’ confidence and physical condition after a difficult period, creating a system that allowed them to regain their competitive edge. He emphasized that when a footballer is confident, enjoys training and looks forward to matches, success and trophies inevitably follow. Zidane’s words were reported by Goal.
